Grow Your Business by Nurturing Relationships

How do you grow your business by nurturing relationships? It is a very simple process we can all do daily. It has only 4 simple steps.

  1. Ask this question every morning before you sit down at your desk: Who can I reach out to today?
  2. Wait for the answers.
  3. Write down the names that come to mind.
  4. Take action to connect with those people.

In all of the daily hustle and activities, we may have lost sight of the importance of connecting and building meaningful relationships to grow our business.

Planning to launch a new program, product, service, or your book?

Nurture and build relationships before you need them. Build relationships with those who could benefit from what you are launching or who can support you now, not the week of the launch (when you may feel desperate). You can easily grow your business by nurturing relationships in advance of when you need them.

Does this take time and effort? 

Yes! And you can organize your day to find 15-20 minutes to do this.

Is it worth it? Absolutely yes!

A key thing to note that this is not focused on sales. Rather it is about truly connecting and sharing.

I have personally connected or reconnected with at least 60 people since late December (that’s 3 weeks’ time). The connections have happened at in person networking meetings, from follow up from my mailing of New Years cards (yes, I used snail mail!), and via Zoom, Skype, Facebook, LinkedIn, and phone.

The results have been priceless!. They include

  • invitations to be a podcast guest
  • formation or strengthening of referral relationships
  • bookings of strategy calls about my author offerings
  • ideas for presenting and sharing of information together via Facebook Live or webinar
  • connections to new resources for an upcoming workshop series, plus
  • a deeper understanding of each others’ businesses and how we can support each other
